Rest

 Matthew 11:16-19, 25-30

Weary, in a world which defines work as the norm.

Always finding no room for anything but running.

Never slow down of you might find what is lacking.

Keep going, keep pushing, never-ending, wheel of work.

Break through, find the way to lay the burdens down.

Work is not connection, or finding our way through

The many difficulties life has, so rest. Find the places

Where still waters flow, hear the voice within them calling.

An invitation to sit and not go or do anything, just be still.

Go and listen to the trees as they stir in the breeze.

What secret language have they learned go sway in the gusts?

Be still. Here you will find rest for your weary soul.

Be still. Know the warmth of the sun, the scatter of clouds.

You can lay down the burdens and find rest in just being.
