Three wise men came from country far.
They checked in with the local king to
be sure the star was guiding them right.
Surely a king must know a promised savior?
The king did not know the gift and offered
to help with a gift if only they came back and told.
The wise men went and saw the babe,
a thrilling promise with tales of angels.
Then a dream to not go back, go a different way.
We know not what the trouble they faced,
all because they avoided the empire.
All we know is others died because power
is a hungry idol and empty with no gift.
