Easy

We expect the easy,
  to hear what we want to hear,
  do what we want to do,
  be pleased by it all.

We don't expect the hard,
  to hear what we don't want,
  do what we would rather not,
  be in the hard place.

Disappointment is here,
  we must leave, find the easy,
  find what pleases us,
  makes us thrive.

Yet if we open the door
  to what is the opportunity,
  to the unexpected,
  to the place stuck in us.

Might we receive,
  more joy, more laughter,
  more of the hard places,
  more of what makes us grow.
