Holding tension

The web glistens in the light,
  another bug comes in.
It appears to break the links
  with its struggle, yet
The spider descends, wraps,
  then mends the breach.
It is a tension of life and death,
  held in its frail lines.
Intricately made to withstand
  all which comes to it.
We have a lesson to learn in
  holding the tension, life and death.
