Spirit and flesh

We wrestle with two, Spirit and flesh.
What is rough, rude, and arrogant
Is flesh, grumbling, fighting, rolling.
Yet Spirit is life, patience, gentleness,
Forgiveness, self-control even when
You don't agree. It is compassion in
Action and falls like a blessed rain
Around us. Watering not only us
But all who stand around our doors.
