Prune

Intentionality,
  pruning is this.
We have to
  look at what has been,
What is to come,
  see if its growth worth keeping
Or decide to trim.
  throwing it from us.
It means we must
  look at ourselves.
See what we are,
  what we are becoming.
If we shy away
  we have missed
Bearing fruit, we instead
  chose to be a wild vine.
For a time there is fruit,
  then in its overgrowth
It is lost. God is there,
  good friends are there,
To help us trim and
  become a branch full.
