Ancestor

Connection through the ages,
  brought down in the guise of a babe.
Vulnerable, naked, and yet
  this is the point, we are to observe
Our ancestor Jesus and
  know how we are to act in this life.
Do we walk the ways
  of being this inheritor, a servant?
Do we know what it is
  to be grafted into this vine?
Let us be relations worthy
  of the inheritance of life here,
May we wash another's
  feet, feed another's hunger,
And find the gifts eternal
  which will not pass away.
