Such a great thing,
  to come onto the porch
And see where the dragon
  has landed, such utter
Fascinations on a hot
  summers day, gone.
We are visited in youth,
  then when we are
Mother's showing the world,
  then to our grandchildren.
Fill our eyes with wonder
  at the beauty of it.
Make us dream so we
  know what can be lost.
Help us magnify it in
  the gracious capture
Of words beyond our
  knowing because truth
Slips into the shadow of
  it all and frees our soul.
