Gem

What gem can I find deep within?
If I look hard will I find it, without
Having to invest myself in silence,
In searching my heart, looking at my
Day and what is reflected dimly in
Mirror back to me? Can I just fill
My days with busyness and drown
Any search so I don't need to grow?
Or do I have to face myself and look,
Look harder, deeper into the calm
Pool of what was and has been to learn
What will be, what is coming, what
Edges are there I need to smooth
And learn the words, "I'm sorry"
Just so I can reach a little further and
Grow into who I was meant to be.
