It is in the simple things we find more than enough
In cookies baked, breads made, laughter at the table.
All things which mean a giving of ourselves, no bows
Or bags, bright colors or wrappings, but time to enjoy
A walk together, or a time to talk, listen and hold one
Another's tears of pain, a release in healing at what
Is to come and be, hands held, a stop made, just the
Simple gift of listening and holding. An offer to link
Us as a community of love and trust, it is all wrapped
In one another, in fun and being free with ourselves.
A time to come and lay down burdens and play.
