It seems as though we move through life
Marked by our many journeys and encounters.
We all have to struggle, wrestle with these
Scars if we are ever to encounter healing.
So don't be afraid of our wounds, especially
The ones tapping, begging for a bit of attention.
It will relieve all the pain to go into it, to be
With it and pass on the salve of language
To set it free from you. So you can say
How you have been claimed as beloved.
Because this is what the healing scar will
Show to others who have wandered silently
Ignoring, their own way to heal the pain.
