Do we pause and take time with others?
Do we rush out the door for the biggest savings?
Do we forget someone has left family to be here?
Do we recognize they may not be able to buy
What we have come to get a deal on today?
Do we take in the season, with all the community,
Or do we forget to take time, give thanks, make
Things with one another, cook in kitchens,
Avoid the crowds and their rush, and settle
In for the quiet things born in the stillness
Of soul, which can't be rushed out for and bought.
