Supplication

Our hands are lifted up
  asking when oh God, when
Will we stop looking
  at every affront as a fight
When will we love
  our enemies and pray for
Those who hurt us
  when will we listen with
The ears of healing
  to know you are in the
Midst of our pain
  and not lost in it, so we
May raise voices to
  one another and say how
Long will we ignore
  the sacred in one another
How long will we
  say we are not one faith,
One hope, how long will
  we insist our voices are the
Most important because
  you taught us to serve
