How dare we
how do we dare to slight
Anyone, or anything
watch the power of the water
As it flows, bounds
down the rocks pounding them
Into something totally
different after years and centuries
It is a reminder
of our smallness, of our finite
Being which only
sees a spot or wrinkle in time
We have to ask ourselves
will what I say, do today last
Longer than this
longer than this one display
Is it better to show
the power of our kindness and
Compassion because
this will endure
how do we dare to slight
Anyone, or anything
watch the power of the water
As it flows, bounds
down the rocks pounding them
Into something totally
different after years and centuries
It is a reminder
of our smallness, of our finite
Being which only
sees a spot or wrinkle in time
We have to ask ourselves
will what I say, do today last
Longer than this
longer than this one display
Is it better to show
the power of our kindness and
Compassion because
this will endure
