For a time

For a time such as this
  we must band together
  stop seeing the differences
  start seeing each other

For a time such as this
  the old words ring true
  those who are weak
  have become strong

For a time such as this
  the lame walk, the hurts healed
  the poor are comforted
  because they are not forgotten

For a time such as this
  we ask for strength, wisdom
  we ask for justice, mercy
  we ask for hope and love

For a time such as this
  may we not forget, ever
  suffering and trial may come
  but God is with us always
