Drawn from the water
to give life
Drawn from the water
which supports life
All the creatures teeming
in the bounds
Under the confines of what
would kill us
Except when we drink from
its shores or wash
Bathing in its color, coolness
fishing its food
Destroying the rarity contained
within its banks
We are drawn again to cleansing
and baptism
Water is life, it gives and gives
it overflows and makes new
Being drawn to the water heals
us within and without
Drawn in by tide and moon
rhythm and waves
Drawn to its side for play and joy
it is so fragile and we must
Remember we were drawn from
the waters to live and protect
