Luke 24:13-35
"We had hoped" they explain to the stranger on the road
hope died in Jerusalem, on a cross
"Can't you see?" the stranger replies, all this was to be
cone walk and talk with me, you will see
They go along, traveling side by side, two now three
sad with all disappointment
What will become of us walking together, alongside
not arguing about the difference of hope
What we thought was to come and didn't, instead
a conversation, an allowing in step
I think I understand why life is like this road
so full of hope, then we hit the bumps
Realize things don't work our way, the road doesn't
go where we thought it would and we
Come alongside again to be reminded what is said
and recognize you in broken bread
