Call

It's not something you just hear
  others help along the way
An encouragement, a prayer
  words spoken, and then
Tough roads and journeys
  introspection, looking
Learning to live ups and downs
  not for yourself, for others
We like recognition, pats
  of well done, not always
Do we get to hear, or rejoice
  sometimes it is living
Deeply into sorrow, and knowing
  it is not the end, the grave
Is not the last word, surrender
  to this is, again and again
Moses said, "Why did you give
  me this grumbling people?"
Hiding behind the veil because
  others did not want to see
The experience of  God on his face
  hidden away, not looked at
Learning, making mistakes and
  trying our best
