Friends

We are called to abide in Jesus
  like the fruit and the vine
Being pruned, it is not easy
  keep abiding and you learn
Even with pain there is new growth
  shoots appear where none existed
Taking care, intentionally taking
  quiet time to hear, listen
Abiding is something we learn
  in fits and starts, it does not
Come naturally, just as pruning is
  not plunged into headlong
It is a series of evaluation, prayer
  expecting we will hear, be still
