We weep for those lost because of a will to power
One that does not care for the flood of tears
The hole in the hearts, of a child, sister, brother
Parent lost, gone, ripped from their place in family
Rachel's tears pour out for those lost to hunger
Just because others don't want them to live, to grow
We weep with all hearts who know and love, caring
We wish for peace to ultimately come, and yet
If there was no peace after the birth of Gods son
How do we expect peace now? Listen to it ring
Can we ever learn its sound and see the beauty of it
Or can we only see the allure of what is most
Important only to ourselves, only then, when we
Can think more broadly and open our hearts
Widely might we begin to see the reign of peace
