A flock has come to rest, speaking silent prayers
One to another, in a language only they understand
Waiting with diligence as others join their quiet rest
A time of peace on the surface, heads bowed
Wings flap, changing pews in some unknown
Worship of the day, calling us all to prayer,
To join in silent worship and listen, observe
Hold the moment as some sign, an example
Of the sacred around us as life changes and continues
Marking the seasons, the need for rest, the quiet
Prayer of joining as one in the cove of stillness
