Can you keep a secret?
These never turn out fun
Like when you are a child
Some fantastic thing shared
Between friends, no these
Ones hurt kept inside an
Illusion of the life you truly
Live, because it's not normal
And you know that even as
Small as you are, but others
Threaten or are disappointed
You turned to someone else
Afraid of what you saw, experienced
Still you have to keep the secret
The illusion it is all perfect even
Though they see the ambulance
At your door, or hear the words
Said, or the blows rendered,
Keeping it in the dark never helps
Only when it is brought into the
Light do we begin to fight denial
And a crack of hope begins to
Surface from all the pile of trying
To hide the secret
