Through smell of leaf familiar, true
Like a part of it and at one then
The fragrance lifts rolling the mind
Back to child places where my
Father taught us how to walk in
Silence like the deer or to talk with
The beaver and slap the water or
To listen deep to the night birds
Cry and sing whip-o-will in return
Then I am here with my son and
It is my turn to reveal our connection
With the earth singing in the night
Breathing deeply in the wood hearing
The change of earths song rise to
Rest in the depths of our being connected
