The light starts to break through the clouds
Thick and heavy as the air changes from wet to dry
From cold to warmth, the peepers play a chorus unseen
Water fowl call as it slips hidden in the mist
Gliding through the waters and then lost in the fog
It's call alone and lonely, no answer greets it
A woodpecker drills on a tree and the birds
Answer their own, no one answers the lonely
Gawk which rings again and again, emphasizing
It's unique mark on this lake, at this time, on this day
Away from all that is familiar to give life a chance
