Open the door wide let all come inside
What is sanctuary but an opening of the
Doors wide? Do we think we escape life
By shutting out, not listening to another's
Heavy burden shared, we can concentrate
On just our own rock weight so much we
Shut out all else, not hearing another's pain
Holding onto our own, but if we start to
Really intentionally listen we will see our
Own burden lighten because we have shared
Shared in the load, in the listening, in opening
Our heart to another and we can walk the way
Together a little lighter on the Emmaus road
