Walking paths taken long ago from deep in memory awakened
Ancient words roll off the tongue in this deep connection
With land and faith weaving the fabric of familiar spaces
Unknown yet familiar, unexplored yet known
Somehow in the breath related to the old ones who
Call to us in dreams planting warnings of
What is not, to connect or to overcome one
Another instead of growing side by side attentive
To what we might adapt and change to become
Erasing one in favor of another does not grow us
It diminishes what could have been sacred
Opportunity now and years later the pull comes from
Within to know this strange familiar mix which
Seems natural, a part of the image within
Grown from the sacred seeds of our meeting imparted
By ones who know what could have been
And maybe what will become if we listen to the depths
Awakening
