"The light of Christ" rings out in vigil song

through the darkness the people respond

"Thanks be to God"

We weave the salvation story

into the night relying only

on the one true light.

Can we notice this is where we place

our hope, our trust.

Do we see the small flame burning?

Inviting us to stand by its light

in the storytelling, so we know who saves.

One small light cuts the darkness

making the windows shine and sparkle.

Reminding us we are never truly alone,

nor does our Christ light shine just within us.

This light of the night, this light of our life.

Lives deep inside not letting the darkness

consume us no matter how dim it gets.

We walk by this light, have faith in this light,

and show others Christ in our lives.
