Betrayed

Told your something your not, sold out by supposed friends

Left alone to face all the hard and sharp appraisals

of who you are, what you've done.

Misrepresented yet silent

Because there is truly no winner or loser

Only fear and loss and humiliation

 

Today is the day of betrayal

What things have we done or not done

Adding to the offense, not a winner or a loser

A new way to walk the way of the cross

Seeing where we need to make amends

Or where we have fallen short in our relationship

 

Sensing where we need to sow the seeds of forgiveness

Love, kindness, healing joy

Where do we need to be silent, listening to

another's picture. Do we dare to take the inner walk?

We find the journey there rough as we die to self

Yet we will eventually touch the deeper peace of healing
