It wraps us in profound moments of awe. We are silent. There are no words to fill the gap of knowing, of blessing, of contact with the holy. We are ushered into silence so deep where we are bound to the divine, to pause in thought, to be brought to the throne. Maybe this is why the monastery wraps us in silence immediately because we assault ourselves with so much noise wee can't hear the still small voice that lives in the silence. Hoping we'll visit and spend a moment in God's canopy just visiting and learning to be caught within the gentle arms of God's presence with us.
