Advent calls us to wait, watch and listen. We have a hard time slowing ourselves to do that. In our increasingly busy world I think we often miss the opportunity. Getting things done efficiently has so programmed us, we can't seem to slow down and breath deeply. Breath in the sacred, recognize where it is around us, slow and listen. We clutter our ears with things to do, with what happens tomorrow, what happens the next minute. We forget to stop, we forget to recognize the sacred around us. Will we wake up and find it all gone? When will we stop and listen, expect to hear from God and not treat Him like some ancient unheard of voice that sits far from us? Will we chance to invite in the silence and to commune with peace? To be touched and acknowledge the divine creation within us? Welcome Advent!
