How do you give tribute to someone so full?
How can you devote yourself to trying?
Crossing divides, harms inflicted because of
Skin color and not what the person is.
You traveled hard roads of forgiveness.
You reached out hands and danced with others.
Other faiths, angry voices, shared joy.
Incredible faith, love of family shown.
Standing by those who wanted to repay,
An eye to an eye until they realized a new way.
Thanks for blessing us, now we need to live
The example left in words and deeds.
