Is our need to consume blinding us
to another persons need,
another life lost.
Have we no stock in compassion?
Is it only mine, our own,
not another's shoes we walk.
Meaningless words crime, punish,
war, mental, foreign,
right, wrong,boxes all.
Which don't touch on person,
family, son, daughter,
siblings all connected.
Cut off we fling them far
from us, hoping
we don't touch it.
