Thinking about our island home seems far off,
farther than what is immediate, in front of us.
We do need to think about it, to see the connection,
we'd like to blame far away, but it is us here.
We have done this damage through ignorance,
through denial, we can keep denying it.
Keep trying to hold the earth away from us,
but we have done it, isn't it time we cared?
