Delight

All the silence delights the senses
  everything drops away
So unimportant our bickering
  thinking it is so important
When one breath, one look can
  take you far away
Into the past, present, future
  if you invite it
The trees have lived how long
  seen what, what must it
Have been like to see one hundred
  two hundred years ago
The birds still flew in and called
  the deer still lay down
The flowers still bloomed in spite
  of our cares and concerns
If we realized the enormity of it
  realized how insignificant
We are just as the animals who
die and are born to carry on
Would we have a different conversation
  would we actually talk
Try to make amends, to be more
  sensitive to others
Because what is significant is
  how we leave this world
For better or worse because of
  our complete blindness
