God of the oppressed and lowly
how can we forget these words
They tend not to be our feature
a God who blesses and gives us things
Is better than a God for the forgotten
the failure, the alone, the criminal
Yet this is who God is for and as such
just like Jesus on the cross
Is what we should strive for
encouraging those who are down
Praying for those who have
lost their way
Opening our hearts to the fringe
forgotten by the rest
Who would Jesus touch today
where would he walk, who would he find
Can we do the same?
