Life

The dead words

and no one claims

  they are dead

no life is in them

  if it is not love

it is not of God

  the hardest words

to remember, to live 

    instead we cry crucify again

and call it politic

  just as a Pharisee

    scribe

      levite

Roman would

  we assure ourselves 

with fear 

   wrapped with good intention

sadness

from those who we are

    to serve

 servants

have we forgotten

    life,

       resurrection,

          loves song,

instead we hide among

   the tombs claiming power
