Last

It is the last day of a time
  drawn in measurement
Kept in scripture
  bracketed side by side
Baptism and a voice
  transformation and a voice
Claiming Jesus as beloved,
  well pleased, mine
The voice claims us all
  draws us into the cloud
A veil of unknown and known
  a time to listen deeply
Shutting out the world
til it breaks in demanding need
The last day and the beginning
  of another, each revealing
It's own secrets of time
  God, reality, our want
Binding us on the altar
  of watching, waiting
Doing the everyday work
of firsts and lasts with God's help
