The weight of the words were on my mind
To know they carried a strong message and
Shaking with the reality of the time were
Spoken and prayed over because to just
Say any word did not do respect to the
Gift given of being asked to pray,
Especially on this day, for this occasion,
In memory of this man who was humble,
Bigger than life because I never knew him
I've only heard the stories, read his words
On the page, seen clips that others have kept
Do the words weigh on my soul today
Because it matters what you say, then it
Matters what you do to embody the words
Equality and freedom come with the cost
Of knowing their weight, as pure as
An offering of great worth, a treasure
