Awe

Snow and the magic of the day begins in the first flakes
Light and fluffy, softly falling with abandon from heights
Unknown patterns of lace individually unique a wonder
Of ice and water come to rest lightly on the earth
Covering all in a blanket of beautiful white that glistens
As the sun rises and casts the sparkle of diamond glitter
In dazzling display, how came this wonder of intricacy?
How can we not be dazzled by the beauty and go about
The workings of a regular day? Can't we be caught up
In the magic of children, a day of rest, a day to wonder,
A day to relish and dance in to know we are alive and
As intricate as each falling flake, made in wonder
