We measure gifts in what can be done.
Treasures are found in simple things though.
Like a time spent at a bedside, or talking with one another.
Maybe just opening our heart up to hear out another.
Receiving a compliment for things done.
Simple gifts of time that cannot be taken back or erased.
There is no way to evaluate the worth to you.
They make their simple splash in our lives never coming
All at once or in obvious flashing signs.
In ways where we take notice of an opportunity
To be kind because it gives a gift not only to the recipient
But to all those who witness and ourselves.
A gift of heart freely sown in a world that has forgotten kindness.
