Currents

Light shines off the water revealing
Where things flow, shining a sparkling path
Through the tops of a silver crest on and away
Out of sight. Some currents run rough softening
Everything in their path, rough and angry
They churn and flow washing loose things
Forward lost in their grinding flow, no way to hang on
Some eddy and swirl around, caught in circles
They can't stop and continue to round on down the path
In the same cycle it left until they disappear in the flow
The currents of life pull and refine or lose us
Where are you gentle flow and sparkling path
Gone in the depths of troubled waters
