Call

"For God so loved the world that he gave his only Son, so that everyone who believes in him may not perish but may have eternal life.  Indeed, God did not send the Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him." John 3:16-17

Can we hear God's call of love in our life?  It is why I love the second verse of John 3:16. All my life the first part is always quoted and well known. The second half always vets left off though. Jesus was not sent to condemn us, but to display God's love more fully-for the whole world.

Most of the time we choose not to display this profound love. We tuck it away, limit its power to heal a hurting world and so we miss the wonder and mystery of God's love at work in all our lives. We're afraid we don't measure up because we are too busy measuring others. God so loved the world, deeply without a measuring stick and we should glorify in that. We should also try to reach others with that love. God's Son came to heal a broken, hurting world. Shouldn't we all try?
