I love to see the sunset when it is just kissing
The horizon with orange blaze, just going down.
The trees seem to cling their naked branches
Yearning for it to stay and bring more color.

I love to watch the moon, full and glowing.
Casting its light to reveal the landscape
Underneath its rays of softness, making the
Downy snow look like a revealed delight.

I love to see the canopy of stars spread out.
Showing off their light, a bowl of wonder to
Watch and wait for the fall and streak, oh so
Quickly it fades, a dying beauty seen and gone.

I love to watch the mirror of the lake, casting
Back the shoreline detail, highlighting the body
Of the patient fisher wading and then big wings
Spread and the great heron goes to the next hole.

I love what we cannot capture or bring home,
Except in our mind and memory, things fragile
And ever-changing, not something we can control.
There for the watching if we just cast our eye.
