Wide open

Fling the doors wide open
  is there a need for them to be closed
What are we protecting
  our ideals, a set of laws, God
Why does it need protecting
  Jesus walked among the outcast
The sinners, called a drunk
  he flung the doors wide open and
Was rewarded with ridicule
  from those within the doors
We never look too closely
  at the criticism to the established
Religion, we only look to criticize
  those without, so turn, turn around
Fling the doors wide open
  to grace, mercy, hope in this weary
World where to often we create
  the nightmare it has become instead
Of the kingdom God intends
  fling them open to love, live deeply
