The wafer breaks
Body of Christ broken for you
Falling through on broken
Aren't we all, pushing on hands
Breaking into the palms
  Broken son that we worship
Broken lives surround the altar
  Given up, consecrated, love
Shown in the scars presented
  Always there to show us
Strength is not grounded in
  The unbroken, perfect, or flashy
It is in the mud and the muck
  The broken places, where we
Know we have somehow survived
  Or been wrong, or failed
This is where Christ lives
  In the cracks of dying
So we may see, believe
  We may rise again
Scared and ugly
  Held in beauty
