In a tree hoping to glimpse
On the outside of community
Not because he's short he just
Takes a little more for himself
Everyone does it, its the only
Way to make the money, yet
From his perch he is not ignored
Instead a healing of the soul
Takes place within and he
Promises to give back more
Than he took, what a windfall
We never know what made Zaccheus
Who he was, or whether he
Really did give it all back and
More, it is an example to us
Of a second life, is it never
Too late, is there a way to heal
From greed, are we all just
Needing a touch of recognition
That puts us right with God
