Cost

We fade not counting the cost of hurtful pride
Clinging to it as if it is our only ship, the only way
Forward kindness does not hurt, it's cost reaps
Much more than we will know or can count
Springing up in love around us if we dare risk it
If we do not count the ways in which we benefit
Richness is not had by clinging, rewards come
In abandon ourselves, our lives, our own stuff
God's richness comes on the wings of freedom
Not in the closing off of our hearts and closing
Our minds or in limiting ourselves in finite thoughts
Giving opens the door to God's wild abandon
We are just here to learn how to hang on and ride
