Forgiveness

Its a daily practice of letting go
Of accusations that would bind you,
Of feelings that turn your soul inward,
Of seeing the hurt you bring inside,
Of knowing in freeing it you feel
Lifted and free of a burden pulling
You toward the edge of the precipice
In self-justification that is empty
Yet the gift of forgiveness is full
Bringing to life dead parts you thought
Gone and unable to recover
Forgiveness is a leap of faith
