Fragile

Today is our last day of vacation bible school. Today we talk about the power of love, even as peace is ending in another part of our world. True love, Gold's love, has quite the power. The power to defeat the darkness as in L' Engel's A Wrinkle in Time and here on earth. We only have to take the steps to believe in it.

To truly believe that life is fragile, to see that we are related one to another. To envision the small babe we hold in our hands and to wonder if we can truly destroy its life or finally birth the possibility of peace. See it is much easier to destroy than to roll up our sleeves and start doing the hard work of peace.

Peace means we have to listen instead of respond. It means we have to come to the table expecting to lose our life for something important. Today Meg does not die, but she has no way of knowing that when she goes in to save Charles Wallace. She has to listen to all her doubts and fears, she has to decide on love instead of force. Its a powerful story and one we can be a part of. Will you take part?
