Do we dare to grow, do we take the steps toward
the precipice of our own death and fall, fall
off daring, willing to be caught?
Because death is something we are so scarred of.
We emphasize growth in terms of numbers, dollars
and we miss that there are so many ways to grow.
We miss the signs of life around us, we get stuck
At deaths door, in fear and blame and shame.
There is no help up if we are only looking down.
If we only see ourselves and don't look beyond.
Beyond to the wild edge of abandon and possibility.
Only then when we fall, jump off in faith
will we find the growth we seek. It was there
all around us, in us, crying to be birthed into
the dawn of new life.
